It's on sale right now, so I figured, why not? Everywhere I see comparisons made to this game, even in modern reviews, as if it were the greatest space strategy game ever made. But I look at these screenshots, and I can't bear the sight. Isn't space supposed to be majestic? Some shining examples of this grand aesthetic are Stellaris and Endless Space 2, both of which beautifully evoke the appropriate mood. Having spent so much time in those universes, this one looks like it will take some getting used to. It might help to keep in mind that the game is over seven years old.

I'm also shocked that there's no multiplayer. What a shame.
