Is there going to be a perma-death option similar to D&D?
Difficulty options won't be available during Early Access, but we will be looking at feedback as we decide what kind of options to include. These may include implementations of perma-death.

I wonder if that means there'll ever be a tactician mode.

What an exciting opening cutscene! Unlike anything seen before in either of its predecessors. It immediately invokes pen-and-paper envy. How many more years until we can play such an encounter on PC? The static set into which you're dumped after finally being given control doesn't compare.
